Canonical visitation of the Superior General in Varanasi

Sr. Nanditha Pereira, our superior General made her canonical visitation to Varanasi province accompanied by Sr. Eva-Maria, the General councillor and Sr. Shruti, the Provincial superior. The visitation began on November 2, and concluded on December 3, 2023. Varanasi province comprises of 210 members in 31 communities working in the dioceses of Varanasi, Allahabad and Udaipur. They are engaged in various ministries - Proclamation & Pastoral, Social developmental, educational, special education and Health and healing.

The visitation was a heartwarming experience for all the members in the province. Sr. Nanditha directed us in evaluating life and mission of the province in the light of our charism. It was also a time to support, encourage, and guide the sisters and to strengthen and reinforce their commitment to the proclamation of the Gospel as evangelizers regardless of hardships. During the visitation she guided the sisters for the on-going reflections on the theme of the General Chapter 2024. It was a time to guide the process of stepping into new century and to focus on the way forward. She was present for the final profession of the sisters on Nov. 30 and the First Professions on Dec. 2, 2023.
